Wade and Beth Thomas certainly don’t let moss grow beneath their feet. The entrepreneurs own a convenience store that includes a gas station and car wash, have a sales consulting firm, and are raising three children. It’s understandable that when they were approached with the opportunity to buy the only EDIBLE ARRANGEMENTS® store in the entire state of South Dakota last summer, their first inclination was to turn it down. (continued below)

However, it didn’t take long for them to change their minds, and to take on the challenge of bringing the store to new heights. So they made an offer and it was accepted, and today they are very glad they made that spur of the moment decision.

Wade and Beth realized it was important to keep EDIBLE ARRANGEMENTS® in Sioux Falls because of the uniqueness of the products it offered. The couple has always been involved with their community, and they’ve extended their charitable efforts through their EDIBLE ARRANGEMENTS® business by participating in the city’s healthy eating initiative, and by giving a discount to all service people who walk through their door.

“My job is putting smiles on people’s faces,” Beth says. “Having people come in the store is always exciting. As soon as they smell the chocolate, they think they’re in heaven!”

Beth handles store operations while Wade continues to oversee their other businesses. She takes pride in educating customers about what it takes to craft each arrangement with care, and makes sure the highest standards of quality are realized. She also makes it a point to thank customers regularly for allowing EDIBLE ARRANGEMENTS® to be part of their special celebrations.

“Our motto is to make our customers and employees happy,” Beth says. “Anybody can own a store, but it’s the day-to-day operators in our local communities that make us a success. It’s not because of who we are, but because of the people we surround ourselves with.”
