Kamran Farid

Kamran Farid is the Chief Operating Officer of Edible Arrangements International, Inc. (“EAI”), the industry leader in providing high quality, artistically designed fresh fruit arrangements. Edible Arrangements® has been recognized by Inc. Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 as one of the fastest growing franchise systems over the past few years.

The entrepreneur spirit runs through Kamran and his family. As a teenager, Kamran helped operate a successful chain of flower shops started by Tariq Farid, his older brother and the founder and Chief Executive Officer of EAI. Together, they combined their life experiences and knowledge of the floral industry to create a concept that would revolutionize the gift giving industry. Inspired by the convergence of three trends- Americans' growing consumption of fresh fruit, the robust growth in the specialty food market and the increasing amount of money Americans were spending on gifts – the Farid brothers designed a unique product and worked nonstop to build a brand and a franchise system from scratch. Edible Arrangements® was born.

In 1999, the Farid brothers opened the first Edible Arrangements® store in East Haven, Connecticut, followed quickly by the first Edible Arrangements® franchise, which opened in Waltham, Massachusetts in 2001. From one franchise store in 2001 to over 800 stores eight years later, Edible Arrangements® is rapidly expanding throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, the United Kingdom, Dubai, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

As COO, Kamran is responsible for implementing the company’s overall strategy and for carrying out EAI’s vision and mission throughout the system. Store Operations are his focus and area of expertise. He spent his first few years with the company training new Edible Arrangements® store owners in the field and in-house, and continues to work directly with franchisees providing overall support and guidance. His leadership in the development of each individual franchise plays an important role in the continued growth and success of Edible Arrangements®. Kamran’s character, reputation and honesty have enabled him to build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to help guarantee the quality products that Edible Arrangements® offers its customers each and every day.

Kamran’s work continues to focus on enhancing the franchise system for the benefit of Edible Arrangements® franchisees and customers. He credits his parents for his success as they have been his inspiration throughout the years.

Kamran Farid was born in Pakistan and immigrated to the United States at age two. He is a co-founder of the Farid Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports local charities and helps build strong, healthy communities.
